Ok... let's return to more "digestible" art for you poor sensible souls... I had finished playing "Okami" a whole while ago but didn't manage to finish my planned game review nor any art considering it. And I don't care if you roll your eyes about this being fan art. :p I like doing fan art once in a while. Hrmpf. I thought about what a celestial brush technique Bloodi might represent and I thought it was suitable to let him be the god of chains, immobilizing enemies, fixing stuff and so on. During art class when I got to mess around with brush and ink. Then thrown in photoshop and tweaked. The color is pretty much the only digital part of this, and technically the paper texture overlay.

A commissioned character from the Wilderhom trilogy, an ambassador for her race, Kemsa KelTaq. Kemsa is a felocanid phur, something that I understand is a cougar-fox hybrid humanoid--and she was supposed to be quite stunning. I hope I pulled it off. ;) Original 11x17" Kemsa KelTaq as well as the Wilderhom Universe and the Trilogy itself (Riders of the Mind, Wilderhom, Beyond that Which Divides) are copyright Philip James Eggerding (Cirrel or Brother Jerenn).

Another Fehnnik image. Much like nautical navigation, being able to travel the trackless deserts needs accurate guidance. That and Fehnniks had an intense interest in astronomy with its connections to astrology and religion. So very elaborate instruments, along with time tables assembled over centuries of observations, could derive location and time/date with great aaccuracy.

Experiment with media and effect. A "Tales of the Fehnnik" style character with dramatic moon rise behind him. Airbrushed acrylic base with underdrawing and under and over coloring in watercolor, using clear acrylic airbrushed on each layer to stabilize them and avoild unwanted mixing.
